Resources

A successful writer needs the right tools, so with that in mind, I’ve compiled some of the resources I use. Some of them may give me a small kickback if you use them, but these are all tools I make use of in my writing journey.

AuthorScale

Marketing is probably the part of being an author that most of us most detest. I just want to write, but I have to promote my books, too. The biggest way to promote that I’ve found is on TikTok. Unfortunately, it takes time to create videos or slideshows and that can be stressful, taking more time away from writing. AuthorScale eliminates the hassle by scanning your book for you and pulling hooks. You just add an image and upload the resulting slideshow to TikTok, convert it to video for other social media platforms, and watch the views roll in. It’s the reason I hit $10k in one week!

Atticus

I purchased Atticus about a year and a half ago, specifically because I wanted to start publishing paperbacks. I do not have the patience to figure out formatting and wanted something that would do it for me. Automatically. Atticus is very good at formatting, but it is pretty no-frills everywhere else. Spellcheck, for example, is nonexistent. However, I find it works quite well for my needs and use it extensively.

4theWords

Gamification is my jam, because my AuDHD brain wants new stimulation constantly. 4theWords provides that. It’s a unique gaming system where you have to type in order to kill off monsters and gather loot. While there’s an overall storyline, there are also frequent events so you can fight unique monsters and join forces with other writers to beat these creatures. It’s silly, but it works!
